Adults with mental disabilities are marginalised within their communities. They are often isolated and have little opportunity to lead and enjoy a full, meaningful life.
Our Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Programme offers adults with intellectual disability and psychiatric illness the opportunity to socialise and develop within a caring, encouraging and supportive environment.
Through a structured programme of arts, crafts, drama and dance, service users:
- develop income generating skills
- improve motor skills
- reduce boredom, depression and aggression
- learn healthy self expression
Club 91 in Woodhurst, Chatsworth, a DCMH psycho-social club, provides rehabilitation day care to adults with psychiatric illness through crafts, beadwork, sewing activities and card-making.
