The Community Outreach Programme will involve a process whereby DCMH will undertake activities, paying careful attention to families who are unable to commute for this valuable service.
To provide an increased awareness within our society with focus within deep rural communities.
To prevent neglect against people struggling with disability.
To provide relief from the stress of continuously caring for persons with disability.
To advocate for the provision of a multi disciplinary outreach services.
Create awareness to eradicate the stigma attached to mental disability versus witchcraft.
Educational talks and awareness programmes in line with symptoms associated to mental disability vs various mental health related issues i.e Dementia, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder.
Provision of empowerment programs to families and communities to ensure that the quality of care received is demonstrated at home with family and within the community at large.
